how do UK fitness instructors make a living in the UK considering the reasonably small salary?

I don't mean to be disrespectful but I was just looking at the average wage for a fitness instructor (14K) with possible career change in mind and was quite surprised at the low pay. Is this really the average?

Are you joking, personal trainers usually charge around £35 per hour depending on the area you live in.
