body building and fitness tips for a COMPLETE beginner?

I a 19 year old female. I turn 20 next month and I have a goal of being totally in shape by my 21st birthday. I am currently about 30 lbs overweight. In high school I was a dancer, but after I stopped dancing I gained a lot of weight. I just joined the new 24 hour gym in my town to help me reach my goal. Is it possible for me to get in shape enough within one year that I could compete in a fitness competition? Where do I start? Any tips or stories? Maybe a website on the this topic? Any help would be great! THANKS!

well common sense is your best asset, you know what is healthy food and what isn’t, cardio is a good calorie burner just do an hour you don’t need to kill yourself. a light weights routine will help u tone up, you can do sets of clean and press, thats from the floor to your neck to over the head, or squats (if u want to be hardcore try this one, 100 reps without stopping) you want to keep the weight light and the reps high. As for a fitness competition, well no thats not realistic, people train for years and years to be good enough to be in these things, it just can’t be done in 1. but who cares do it for yourself and maybe a few years from now you will be good enough
