Fitness tips for a thirteen year old?
I am 13, 5ft 7, about 7 1/2 stone. I have a reasonably good diet (lots of vegetables and potatoes and stuff). I’m not overweight, but I do nil exercise because I can’t get motivated to do any. For health reasons I’d like to improve on this. Any tips on how I could get more fit/toned, something I could do at home? (I can’t afford gym fees)
Even doing chores is exercise - dishes, vacuuming, cleaning, etc. However, I would advise investing in small weights (1-2 pounds) to lift and stretch with while you’re watching TV. Or if you have a garage, invest in a jump-rope?
If these aren’t options however, then go out to the park for a run or take a brisk walk around your neighborhood. Call your friends out to play a game at the park or to take a walk together (when I was your age I would often walk with my close friends once or twice a week - spending time together without spending money and getting in some exercise while at it!)
Basically, keep on your feet. If you find yourself lazing in the house, get yourself up and do stretches or sit-ups - just keep your body in motion, that’s all exercise is, Especially, if you aren’t wanting to lose a lot of weight but just keep your weight balanced or maybe shed a couple pounds.
