How to repaint a squat rack (Fitness equipment)?
I have multiple squat racks which are made of metal. They are rusted but they had a few coats of black and white spray paint over them a few years ago. I would like to know how to fix them up to where they look as nice as they can. What materials would I need and what would I need to do?
well, depending on the worth of the equipment, the proper way would be to dissassemble, have the parts sand,blasted, then repainted with a quality automotive paint, probably an enamel would be good over a light coat of etching primer .. for a home job on a couple of pieces, i would say maybe a marine stripper, sand, and use some rustoleum. Hanging the parts will give a better angle to cover nice so its glossy, but if you go that route with puff-can paint be sure to let the parts just hang and cure for a week or so before assembling things back ..
