Is the P90X program suitable for people with a huge weight loss goal?
I’m 17 and I’m trying to lose about 51 pounds. Yes, that’s quite a lot. I was wondering if I could follow that program. It’s got everything, from Fitness guide to Nutrition guide. Thanks.
yes- p90x is a very popular program, and you should be very safe following this regime. Congrats on your goal, especially working to attain it at such a young age. My only advice is to be careful with your eating habits— do not reward yourself with food for a great workout, and do not justify an extra portion of sweets since you just worked out. Eat according to your body and your caloric needs. Congratulations for your initiative, and good luck!
Recommendation for fitness equipment?
I’m looking to purchase some fitness equipment. Its between the Total Gym or the Ab Circle (something a little cheaper) and going "all out" and getting an elliptical.
Any suggestions on any type of equipment, or personal reviews on the said equipment?
It depends what your goal is.
If you just want to stay toned or lose body fat percentage, I would go with the eliptical. The ab circle is not very good and will only work your abs. It would more than likely be a $200 coat rack within a couple months.
I you are doing strength training to gain muscle, I would forget the total gym because that too is a machine whose durability is questionable. I would go for a small fitness center from Sears or something like that. Those workout centers have 3 or 4 stations that will work your whole body. You can get these for about the same cost as an eliptical. That way you can just go outside for a run for your cardio and breathe some fresh air.
Do you workout with music at the gym?
Yes or No ? Why or why not ? Some people think that music is a great motivation tool. Others think that it’s harder to meet people, makes you less approachable. People who can help you achieve your fitness goals. I’m single , I think I’m going to start running at the park with no headphones
It Depends. I Work out with music. but i keep it on low. and when i come across someone i mingle! you can do both. & Its great to do.
